Grahams Consultants are an established Children’s Social Care and Education Consultancy, with a significant amount of experience across residential care, education and other social care provisions, including being an experienced provider of Regulation 44 Independent Visits, CQC Monitoring visits, Regulation 25 visits, Supported Accommodation Monitoring visits and Standard 3 visits.
Our team possesses an extensive range of first hand experience in leadership roles within children’s services, including Registered Managers, Regional Managers, Quality Assurance Managers, Service Managers, Heads of Local Authority Services and Headteachers of both mainstream and special schools.
We work with many private children’s homes and residential schools, spanning the length and breadth of the country, conducting Regulation 44 visits, return interviews and advocacy sessions. Home set-ups.
This is a frequently used service for new providers ensuring they are Ofsted ready.
Consultancy fees are between £300/ £500 for a half/ full day set up service and pre-Ofsted registration visits.
Home set up plan.
Consulting daily rates from £300/ £500 for half/ full day for one consultant, plus travel (this can be booked in as frequently as required, dependent on need).
Initial site visit to look at the suitability of the home with an action plan - £500 plus travel.
Consultant visit/ session to discuss your requirements and action plan - £500 plus travel.
Pre-application document review - £500.
Pre Ofsted registration site visit (ensure you are ready for Ofsted) - £500 and travel per day.
Safe recruitment process support - Assistance with choosing the right candidate, as part of the shortlisting and interview panel. From £500 plus travel expenses for one consultant and £900 if you require two. Virtual rate from £300 for half day and £500 per day.
Supplying model policy and procedure package - £1600.
Staff induction booklet - £150.
Advocate drop in session monthly or bimonthly visits (this could also be classed as an independent visitor) from £250 plus travel.
1-2-1 advocate sessions from £110 plus travel per session.
Six weekly supervisions for Responsible Individuals and Registered Managers - £175 plus travel.
Monthly Regulation 44 visit (three hour visit/ six hour visit) - £250/ £400 plus travel.
Manager's mentoring sessions - £300 for half day support and £500 for full day support, plus travel.
Pre Ofsted health check visits from £500 per day plus travel.
Regulation 44 visits.
Based on a four-bed home or smaller: the cost would be £250 per three hour visit. This includes the three-hour visit, report writing and distribution to the Manager, Responsible Individual and Ofsted.
Based on a five-bed home or larger: the cost would be £400 for a six hour visit. This includes the six-hour visit, report writing and distribution to the Manager, Responsible Individual and Ofsted.
There would also be a travel cost per day (we could complete two three-hour visits in a day if you have more than one home close together). Travel costs vary dependant on distance and travel time. We do not do a 'per mile' rate, just a flat rate per area to cover fuel costs. Without a postcode we can't provide an exact cost however as an example most of Manchester is £35 travel per day.
A sample Regulation 44 Report can be sent to you on request, and we would provide a PEN picture of the Consultant who would undertake the visits should you choose to utilise Grahams Consultants. We aim to keep the same visitor in place for a minimum six-to-12-month period to ensure consistency within your homes.
CQC Monitoring Visits.
The cost would be £400 plus travel for a six hour visit. This includes the six-hour visit, report writing and distribution to the Manager, and Nominated Individual.
Supported Accommodation Monitoring Visits.
The cost would be £250/ £400 plus travel for a 3 hour or 6 hour visit. This includes the site visit, report writing and distribution to the Manager and Nominated Individual.
Regulation 25 Monitoring Visits.
The cost would be £250 for a monthly half day visit plus travel. This includes the three-hour visit, report writing and distribution. A quarterly visit would be £400 plus travel cost. This includes the six-hour visit, report writing and distribution to the Manager, Responsible Individual and Ofsted.
Standard 3 Visits.
For residential special schools: the cost would be £400 plus travel cost for a six hour visit. This includes the visit, report writing and distribution to the Manager, RI and Head.
Missing From Care Return Interviews.
There are still many children's homes that are struggling to meet the guidelines on return home interviews, usually through no fault of the home. With this in mind, and in line with ‘Statutory guidance on children who run away or go missing from home or care’ (January 2014), Grahams Consultants are able to provide trained independent return interviewers and advocates to meet with children and young people within 72 hours of their return, at competitive prices. We are able to offer this service for £110 per visit/ interview plus a flat rate travel cost for your area. As we know that lots of children and young people go missing together, this can then become quite costly. We are happy to link these visits by charging £110 for the initial interview with the first young person and £65 for subsequent interviews with young people on that same visit.
Additional Service Fees.
Supervisions for Managers, Responsible Individuals and Directors - £175 for one and a half hour consultation and a detailed report for your records, plus travel cost if session is face to face.
Independent visitor service for the young person once a month - This consists of a one hour visit with the young people and a written report - £200 for a one hour consultation and a detailed report for your records, plus travel cost.
Independent advocate drop in service for young people once a month - For a home under five beds, a visit with the young people and a written report - £200 for up to two hour consultation. For a home of five and above beds or a school, a three hour visit with the young people and a written report - £250 plus travel.
Mentoring for Managers - A package of 7 sessions looking at key aspects of the role, which can be spread over 5-6 weeks or 5-6 months. From £300/ £500 for half/ full day, plus travel expenses if required.
Homes mini audit - Covering the past 6 months. From £500 per day dependent on the size of the home, plus travel expenses.
Consulting services - From £500 plus travel expenses.
Education consultancy - On setting up Special Schools, Education Provisions, School Improvement, Coaching & Mentoring, SEND Consultancy from £600/ £700 plus travel expenses.

Management investigations & independent investigations - From £500 a day, plus travel expenses.
Training fees - Differs depending on the training required, delivery schedule and candidate numbers.
All costs are subject to VAT.
For one off/ad hoc pieces of work, an invoice for the total amount will be issued and will need to be processed prior to the agreed work date. For all ongoing services we will issue a service level agreement and expect two months’ notice from both parties if visits were to cease for any reason.
